EXODUS Drop Off Vegas New Year's Eve Show
October 28, 2002Despite previous reports to the contrary, EXODUS will NOT be performing with HALFORD, TESTAMENT, and VIO-LENCE at House Of Blues in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, Dec. 29.
"We are sorry for anyone that bought tickets in anticipation of seeing EXODUS perform," the band's manager Steve Warner said in an official statement. "Before the show was even presented to us a couple of weeks ago, and before we could work out the particulars and commit to doing the gig, they were already advertising and selling tickets to the show with our name on the bill. We are sorry that at this time we are unable to work the show into our schedule. We are still busy in pre-production for the new album, and I assure you it will surprise a lot of people. [Guitarist] Gary [Holt] has had a rough year... Still mourning the loss of [former EXODUS frontman] Paul [Baloff] on almost a daily basis as well as another close friend that recently passed away, [not to mention] a marriage that came to an end [not too long ago] and a deal with Century Media that let him to feel greatly disrespected. To put it in a nutshell, Gary has been very pissed off, and he and the band are writing the best album they will have done to date. You will see!"
EXODUS were expected to play the Las Vegas show as part of a short West Coast tour that was to include additional dates with TESTAMENT and VIO-LENCE. The group's eight-date European tour, scheduled to take place in late December, will not be affected in any way, according to the band's management.
